4 Effective MethodsTo Check The Quality After PCB Board Soldering

With the increase of electronic equipment, there are more and more PCBA processing industries, and the quality of PCBA is also very important. The inspection after PCB soldering is very important for PCBA processing manufacturers and customers. In particular, many customers have strict requirements on electronic products. Soldering refers to the manufacturing process and technology of joining metal or other thermoplastic materials by heating, high temperature, high pressure, etc. Soldering is very important process in PCB production. If no soldering, various devices cannot be gathered on the board, and the circuit board cannot be formed.

1. PCB triangulation method

 

What is triangulation? The method used to examine the shape of a three-dimensional object. At present, the triangulation detection method has been developed and used, and equipment capable of detecting its cross-sectional shape has been designed. However, because this triangulation detection method is incident from different lights and directions, the observation results will also be different. In essence, objects are tested by the principle of light diffusion. This method is the most suitable and effective. As for the situation where the soldering surface is close to the mirror surface condition, this method is not suitable and it is difficult to meet the production demand.

 

2. Light reflection distribution measurement method

 

This method mainly inspects the decoration by using the welded part, injects light from an oblique direction inward, sets a TV camera above, and then inspects it. The most important part of this method  is how to know the surface angle of the PCB solder, especially how to know the luminosity information, etc. It is necessary to capture the angle information through various light colors. On the contrary, if it is illuminated from above, the measured angle is the reflected light distribution, and it is enough to check the inclined surface of the solder.

 

3. Changing the angle for camera inspection

 

Using this method to detect the quality of the PCBA must have a device with a changing angle. This device generally has at least 5 cameras, multiple LED lighting equipment, uses multiple images and visual inspection conditions for inspection, which has relatively high reliability.

 

4. Focus Detection Utilization Method

 

For some high-density circuit boards, after the circuit board is soldered, the above three methods are difficult to detect the final result. So the fourth method, which is the focus detection method, is required. This method is divided into several, such as the multi-segment focus method, which can directly detect the height of the solder surface and realize high-precision detection method. If 10 focus plane detectors are installed at the same time, the focus plane can be obtained by seeking the maximum output and detected position of the solder surface. If the method of irradiating the object with a fine laser beam is used for detection, as long as 10 specific pinholes are staggered in the Z direction, the lead device with a pitch of 0.3mm can be successfully detected.

 

The above four methods are some detection methods used by PCBA processing manufacturers for external inspection of PCB boards. These methods can be mastered by professionals. Therefore, the quality of products produced by professional and regular PCBA processing manufacturers is often very good. However, these are not all testing methods, nor are they absolute testing methods. If you want 100% guarantee no problem with the PCB circuit board, you must pay attention to the early procurement, mid-term production and post-inspection. Provide good products that satisfy customers.
