When you just get a new circuit board, the first thing to pay attention to is to check whether the circuit board is in good condition, check whether there is an open circuit or a short circuit, etc. After confirming that it is correct, check the assembly drawing to determine and align the components that need to be used.
SMD desoldering is usually done with a hot air blower, while soldering can be done with a soldering iron and solder wire or with solder paste or solder balls (BGA) and an SMD hot air blower/rework station.
There are many processes for surface mount soldering of SMD components, but no one process is suitable for all applications.
Types of SMD Welding Processes
All SMD soldering processes have technical issues, and there are ways to solve them. Convection-dominated IR soldering has developed into the preferred process for reflow soldering because it offers higher yields and lower operating costs.
Vapor soldering is not going away, but it will continue to be used in niche applications. For some specialized jobs, other reflow soldering processes, such as laser and hot bar resistance soldering, are also used.
These soldering processes are not intended to replace vapor phase or infrared, but to complement them. The end-use process should be selected based on the specific requirements of the intended application, solder defect results, and total cost.
