For guys who like DIY, using a soldering iron to solder is an essential skill
Different soldering irons have different characteristics.
Some guys like electrical appliances, so a handy external heating electric soldering iron (Higher power, suitable for larger solder joints or hardware welding) is indispensable; Some guys like to toss some digital products, an internal heating type electric soldering iron (low power, fast heating, suitable for ordinary solder joint welding) is enough.
Still, an malleable constant temperature electric soldering iron is your stylish choice, If you want further playability.
The selection of the soldering iron tip should be determined according to the contact surface of the object to be welded. We take AiXun's Soldering Iron Tip Kit as an example:
1. Type I
Features: The tip of the corresponding soldering iron tip is very small.
Scope of application: suitable for fine welding, and it can also be used in places where the welding space is relatively narrow.
2. Type B/LB
Features: This B-type soldering iron tip has no certain directionality, and it can weld the entire front end of the soldering iron tip. Type LB can be said to be a type of Type B. Both sizes of tip are very flexible.
Scope of application: can be used for general welding, regardless of the size of the solder joint.
3. D type/LD type
Features: Welding with batch nozzle.
Application range: suitable for soldering that requires a large amount of tin, such as a soldering environment with large soldering area, thick terminals, and large pads.
4. Type C/Type CF
Features: Use the slope of the corresponding front end of the soldering iron tip for soldering, which is very suitable for multi-tin soldering.
Scope of application: For some welding that requires a large amount of tin, it can be used in environments with large welding areas.
5. Type K
Features: Use the knife-shaped part for welding. It can be welded for vertical type and pull welding type. It is a multi-purpose soldering iron tip.
Scope of application: It is very practical for correcting solder bridges and soldering connectors.
6. H type
Features: The corresponding tin-plated layer is located at the bottom of the soldering iron tip.
Scope of application: For some SOPs and QFPs with relatively large welding pitches of the pull welding type, both QFPs can be used
The more advanced DIY method is to polish the unique shape of the soldering iron tip according to your own needs.
For the newly purchased electric soldering iron, we cannot use it immediately. A new soldering iron needs to be tinned for the first time. We will continue to talk about the handling of the new soldering iron tip in the follow articles. Want to know How to handle the new soldering iron tip? Follow AiXun, we will share with you.
